If you buy a NVMe PCIe SSD today, it is probably a 2280 form factor SSD. This length seems to be the most popular and is generally suitable for most computers with M.2 slots. However, some devices require a smaller M.2. hard drive due to limitations.
The shorter 2242 form factor is quite rare, although scandalous, and ADATA has a new ultra-compact SSD of this length. The NVMe PCIe SSD Gen3x2 M.2 2242, referred to as IM2P3014, is designed for industrial applications, but can of course be used in virtually any computer with an M.2 slot and a mounting hole for 2242 SSDs. In fact, this dynamic can be an absolute find for those who need this form factor.
This PCIe Gen3x2 SSD supports NVMe 1.3 for excellent read/write speeds up to 1600/1300 MB per second while maintaining energy efficiency and heat dissipation. These features make the IM2P3014 ideal for IPC and server start-up applications where space is limited. In addition, the SSD is designed for a 3000 P/E cycle and offers excellent durability and optimum performance over a wide temperature range (-40°C to 85°C), as well as incredible ruggedness, reliability and stability, according to ADATA.
To improve data security, IM2P3014 is equipped with 256-bit AES encryption and complies with TCG Opal 2.0, depending on the business. Its compact form factor and high performance make it suitable for all types of industrial systems, both as an extended drive as well as a boat drive. To ensure quality, compatibility and reliability, ADATA uses a rigorous SSD validation process that includes performance testing and quality assurance to ensure that its SSDs meet the stringent requirements of industrial applications.

Unfortunately, the ADATA IM2P3014 M.2 2242 NVMe PCIe Gen3x2 SSDs are not yet available from any online retailers. However, it could be here soon. Since ADATA has not distributed the prices yet, we will have to wait to know the price. However, we know it is available in four volumes – 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
