The Oppo Watch 2 was launched back in early 2017 as a fashion accessory and a fun piece of technology with a unique, circular design. But the company has now confirmed that the successor to the Watch 2 will be a fully fledged smartwatch with a Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor. The watch will be slightly larger than its predecessor, which means the new model will have a slightly larger display than the existing Watch 2, which is still impressive at 1.4 inches.

The Oppo Watch 2 has been listed as the latest tech news in late October, and the rumors are spot on. The device is expected to be released sometime in 2016, and to have a Snapdragon Wear 4100 and a circular display.

Oppo CEO, Pete Lau, unveiled the Oppo Watch 2 during the company’s launch event in Oppo City, Jakarta. The smartwatch runs on Wear OS by Google (previously known as Android Wear) which is based on Android. The new smartwatch features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100 system-on-chip, which is the world’s first 100% Wear OS smartwatch operating system to use a custom-designed CPU. It’s been year since Oppo has launched its first smartwatch in China. The company is now ready to launch second generation Oppo Watch 2 with the additional features. The leaked information from the tipster indicates major changes to the smartwatch. According to the leak, Oppo Watch 2 would come with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor to handle all the powerful tasks. Along with Wear 4100 Soc, the watch may get Apollo 4s chipset to boost the battery life and make easier app openings and other minor operations. The official teaser confirms two variants to come later this year. First-gen Oppo Watch had launched with only square design. Now, Oppo Watch 2 will have two designs – the square display, and circular display. Both models will get 42mm & 46mm screen sizes for different users. The huge upgrade to come in storage area, where it will double from 8GB to 16GB storage space. Massive amount of storage will be useful to store plenty of apps, games, watch faces, and offline music.
