The Most Popular LoL Champions

The Most Popular LoL Champions

Whether you’ve played League of Legends before or you’re an avid fan of betting on this type of esports, you must understand the game, more especially its champions. Since the game is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), it’s literally survival of the fittest, or in this case, survival of the best champions.

If you are new to LOL, we want to ensure that you understand what you’re playing on to give you a better chance of winning. For this reason, we’ll take you through our guide of the best or more popular champions within League of Legends. Perhaps, you can use this information to decide where you’d like to place your bets on LOL when it matters.

What is a Champion?

The game features over 150 champions or characters on the map that real players control. They all have certain strengths and properties that make them an excellent choice for players who want to win the battle at Summoner’s Rift. Every character has one ability that’s better than other champions, which we refer to as the ‘ultimate’, but players can only use this occasionally since it takes a while to load up.

Garen – The Might of Demacia (971AN)

Garen is a naturally built champion with incredible bonus defensive stats. He is passive, yet his determination and perseverance enable him to quickly regenerate his health – much faster than other champions. As a result, he can stay in the game longer, especially when facing a barrage of attacks. Staying out of harm’s way for a short while will result in quick health regeneration.

Also, Garen can cause severe damage when on the front foot. If a player can link his offensive abilities, Garen is a force to be reckoned with. In League of Legends, there aren’t many champions who can stand up to the repetitive use of Judgement and Decisive Strike, so Garen wears his opponents down and finishes them off with his Ultimate.

Nasus – The Curator of the Sands (2900BN)

Nasus’s characteristics are similar to Garen’s in that he’s also tanky yet passive. Players can build Ability Power (AP) or Attack Damage (AD) with him, and as a Soul Eater, he can get life steal for free, resulting in a longer stay in the lane. Nasus often uses magic damage to weaken opponents before going in for the kill. His Siphoning Strike becomes more powerful with every kill, but it has to be farmed by the controlling player.

For Nasus, cooldown reduction is crucial, which is achieved by using items such as Iceborn Gauntlet and Trinity Force. These allow the champion to cast more spells more often.

Shyvana – The Half-Dragon (966AN)

In terms of jungle clear, Shyvana has some of the quickest in LoL. She has a passive called Fury of the Dragonborn that allows her to affect significant damage to dragons while accumulating bonus stats for every dragon she kills. Thanks to her speed boost, she remains a threat throughout the game. The unique aspect about Syhyvana is that teams can build her depending on their specific needs. As a result, teams can up her tank stats to withstand more damage.

Having said that, Shyvana lacks Crowd Control before level 6 and will need assistance from the rest of her team.

Annie – The Dark Child (988AN)

Annie encompasses what it’s like to be a mid-lander. While she has strong crowd control and high magic damage, her mobility is restrictive. With some good timing and target selection, Annie can turn some games on their head. After using four spells, Annie charges up a stun that activates on the next spell she casts. These are great features for Annie, but you must bear in mind that she only has a Molten shield for protection, so if she gets caught out in a fight, it will be difficult for her to escape.

Caitlyn – The Sheriff of Piltover (970AN)

Caitlyn is the champion with the longest range in the game. There are others who can surpass her, but it’s not until later in the game. The positive trait about Caitlyn is she can cause damage from a far distance, away from other threats. Her kit is reasonably simple, and she relies on her auto-attacks for the majority of her damage.

Players using this champion will most likely be the biggest target, relying on team members for protection. If she gets too close to a fight, she will take on far too much damage and risk dying quickly.

These are some of the more popular champions players select when playing League of Legends. Whether you’re a new player or a veteran, these champions are the easiest to use and get yourself into the game.

Also, when you understand the capabilities of these popular characters in the game, you can bet on esports with more confidence. You simply evaluate a team and the champions they have from the available 150 and decide on which one will win the battle or the tournament.
